This reply was inspired by Ralph Emerson’s poem to an Alien. Please read his first 😇 Just for fun I thought I would reply 😉

Dear Human

I am trying hard to see through your eyes, the beauty you speak of, the wonder disguised,

These 8 billion vermin appear to be a virus, they are certainly not doing a great deal to inspire us,

Look at the scars deeply cutting your Earth, and in every child even before birth,

All for this aforementioned dollar, is that really what causes you all such bother?

What an insane concept, to live so sucept’, to this disease of greed, opposing sharing and need,

Did you really never learn to share? Or that no one can own what was already there?

Beauty you say is in the beholder, and disappears as you get older?

Well how ancient has your species become? To have lost all heart and become so glum?

It is a wonder you have survived. But pretty obvious why you haven’t thrived

Scientists working to mess with order. As you all fight on imaginary borders

You give jerks all your power. Lording over the masses each hour

You say you’re trapped under their rule? All I see is a bunch of fools

For you all vote them to their towers. With those sacred dollars you spend by the hours

This planet is beyond insane. Playing this “we’re such victims” game

I think it’s time for me to leave. Before I’m infected to believe

That my life isn’t simply a reflection of me

Sincerely,

Alien

There's something organic about this, the social commentary is spot on, almost like a sermon. Loved it!

  • Whoaaaa, this was so spot on! Seriously this is what the aliens would think of us. They'd think humans are so dumb, lol!

I think this is exactly what aliens would think of us. I think they'd fly away in their UFO haha. Brilliantly written Kayleigh!

I feel alien’s would not want to invade us based on how we are

A candid alien perspective, but I wonder if they look at us like we look at toddlers, forgiving them for coveting cookies and getting in fights? Nevertheless, we are less than our best, sadly. Nice writing! 💙Anneliese or is it Aliennese, haha
