I still see her,
The girl you once were,
The innocence that lived in your eyes,
soft as morning light on still water,
before the world learned your name,
before pain found its way inside.
I remember that day.
A stranger reached out a hand,
and for a fleeting moment,
saved a piece of you.
But that stranger is gone now.
And somehow,
when you left,
that piece left with you.
Now my mind is a house of restless ghosts,
every room echoing with things I never said,
every hallway lined with regrets
I carry like chains around my throat.
The weight is unbearable.
Too heavy to share.
Too ugly to confess.
Too deep to bury.
I replay every mistake
until they become wounds that never close.
Every careless word.
Every silence.
Every moment I should have loved you better.
And the pain I caused you
returns to me in the dark.
Your eyes…
Those beautiful blue lakes
where I once felt at home,
have become oceans I can no longer reach.
Sometimes I still see them.
Not filled with love.
Not filled with hope.
But darkened by the storms I brought.
And I ask myself,
again and again,
the question that follows me like a shadow:
What have I done?
You are too far away now.
Beyond apologies.
Beyond second chances.
Beyond the reach of trembling hands
that finally learned what they lost.
And I am left here,
standing among the ashes
of everything we were.
Losing you was not a moment.
It was a slow death.
A thousand quiet endings
I relive every night
when the world falls silent
and there is nothing left to distract me
from your absence.
You will never know
how empty this life became.
How your absence settled in my bones.
How every beautiful thing
reminds me of what is missing.
Because you are gone.
And the cruelest part is that the world kept turning.
The sun still rises.
The seasons still change.
People still laugh.
While I remain trapped
in the graveyard of us,
carrying a heart
too heavy for one soul,
haunted by the ghost
of the girl I could not save,
and the woman
who watched her slip away
one heartbreak at a time,
who now wanders
the ruins she left behind,
carrying love
like a candle in a storm,
shielding its dying flame
from the merciless wind,
knowing it will never
bring her back,
knowing some losses
are forever,
yet loving her still
with every broken piece
of the heart she left behind.
