Heated

Hot hot and hotter

Heated

Rage burned deep beneath my skin

Like a fire locked within

Every word became a spark

Setting flames against the dark

Walls shook hard from bitter screams

Shattered trust destroyed my dreams

Smoke rose thick around the room

Carrying the scent of doom

Anger rushed through every vein

Feeding off relentless pain

Fists clenched tight against the night

Ready for another fight

Eyes met mine with cruel delight

Turning wrong into a right

Heat spread wild across the floor

Like a war demanding more

My chest held storms I could not tame

Every wound called out your name

Broken promises stayed near

Fueling all my buried fear

Thunder cracked across the sky

No one cared to ask me why

Ash drifted through open space

Like revenge without a face

Still I stood inside the blaze

Lost within those violent days

Learning rage can leave a scar

Seen from near or seen from far

Now the fire slowly fades

Leaving smoke across the shades

I survived the burning heat

Still remaining on my feet
