Heartache In The Valley

A battle between mind and heart

By Taymaraeè TriplettPublished 11 months ago • 1 min read

I follow my heart

Like a leaf in the wind

Going with the flow even if I don’t know

Which way I’ll go

Constantly pulled from left to right

I put up a fight

But strong as I might

It’s a battle I lose most nights

the battle of mind and heart

When it feels sooo amazing it hurts so bad when it doesn’t

Convincing myself its love when it wasn’t

The facade disguised so beautifully

It’s hard to tell real from pretend

What keeps me going

Is this heart of gold

Tired of the pain

Wondering when it’ll end

Love is me

It’s who I am

And what I live to give

Wishing I could take

For once instead of rid

But Still, I frolic through heartache valley

Smile on my face

Ready to brace

Or embrace

Running like it’s a race

To find my place

In the heart of another

Treated how I treat

Loving the way I do is my greatest feat

I may lose the battle

Yet I win the war

Loving the way I do

Though, my heart is sore

I travel through the valley

Of heartache

Graciously and proud

With my head held high

chin up chest out

In the end I know it’s not real

It’s all self doubt

So I let it go

And I travel through the valley

Leading with love

Baring my heart for all to witness
