My heart beats a symphony within my chest,
A complex composition of blood and flesh,
With allegro adagio, crescendo and rest,
This vital organ plays its rhythmic best.
Major chords of joy when with ones I love,
Minor notes of sorrow when we're apart,
All emotions embedded in each palpitation
That allows my soul its full expression.
Melodies of memories, hopes, regrets,
Harmonies of passions, fears and dreams,
My heart orchestrates each sentimental song
Making music from life's complex themes.
But when pain strikes a sad discordant strain
In strange atonal rhythms uncontrolled,
The core conductor keeps the tempo true,
Steadfast with each beat - I'll see this through.
Even when the music wrenches wild with grief,
Though loss may strain the heart beyond belief,
Still it marches on, intent on living,
Singing life aloud, solace giving.
So play on, faithful heart, your song's not done,
Each day composes new crescendos to come.
Keep beating your bold unbridled symphony,
You are the maestro here, not tragedy.
