Tell me, do you wait for the words

Or do you toss them around

Longing for your heart to be heard

*

Do you scavenge, like a bird

Collecting them from the ground

Tell me, do you wait for the words

*

Are you a literal, learning literary nerd

Reeling from the treasures you’ve found

Longing for your heart to be heard

*

Falling completely in love with the absurd

Playing rhymes like a life changing sound

Tell me, do you wait for the words

*

Trying new ways, telling the things you have learned

Falling, yet adjusting your crown

Longing for your heart to be heard

*

No longer afraid of being burned

Leaving the ashes behind, scattered round

Tell me, do you wait for the words

Longing for your heart, to be heard
