Heart Broken

Under the purple clouds

Every night at midnight, the purple clouds came out to dance with the blushing sky. It was a sight that always left Mia breathless. She would sit on her balcony, watching as the clouds twirled and spun, their edges tinged with pink and orange as they kissed the horizon. It was a moment of peace in her otherwise chaotic life.

Mia had always been a dreamer. She had a vivid imagination and a heart full of hope. She believed in love, in happy endings, in the magic of the world. And for a time, it seemed like that magic had come true for her.

She had met Michael on a warm summer evening at a friend's party. He was tall, with broad shoulders and a mischievous smile. He had a way of looking at her that made her heart skip a beat, and before long, they were inseparable.

They spent long afternoons exploring the city, discovering hidden corners and secret parks. They danced under the stars, laughing and holding hands. They talked for hours about their hopes and dreams, their fears and doubts. It was as if they had known each other forever, as if they were meant to be together.

But as much as Mia wanted to believe in their love, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Michael was charming and kind, but there was a darkness in his eyes that she couldn't ignore. Sometimes he would disappear for days without a word, leaving her to wonder where he was and what he was doing. Sometimes he would come home late, smelling of alcohol and cigarettes, and she would try not to ask questions.

As the weeks turned into months, Mia began to realize that their love was not what she had hoped it would be. Michael was not the prince charming she had dreamed of, but a flawed and troubled human being. He had his own demons to fight, his own scars to bear.

Still, she held on to hope. She believed that their love was strong enough to withstand anything, that they could overcome any obstacle if they faced it together. And for a time, they did. They fought and made up, argued and laughed, hugged and kissed. They tried to build a life together, to make a home.

But the darkness in Michael's eyes never went away. It grew stronger and more suffocating, until it consumed him completely. One day, he packed his bags and left, without a word of explanation or a goodbye kiss.

Mia was heartbroken. She felt as if a part of her had been ripped away, leaving her empty and alone. She cried for days, for weeks, for months. She tried to forget Michael, to move on, but she couldn't. Everywhere she looked, she saw him. In the parks they had visited, in the songs they had danced to, in the memories they had shared.

Every night at midnight, Mia would sit on her balcony and watch the purple clouds dance with the blushing sky. She would imagine that Michael was there with her, holding her hand and whispering sweet nothings in her ear. She would imagine that they were still in love, that they still had a chance.

But the clouds would fade and the sky would turn dark, and Mia would be left alone once again. She began to realize that their love was not meant to be, that sometimes dreams don't come true. She began to let go of hope, of magic, of love.

Years went by, and Mia grew older and wiser. She met other men, some good, some bad. She fell in love again, but it was never the same. She always held back, always kept a part of herself hidden away. She never let herself be vulnerable, never let herself hope.

And yet, every night
