He Who I Value, Love and Hate

The one who is my soul mate

He Who I Value, Love and Hate

I see him standing in the doorway of my days,

holding pieces of me that I never meant to give,

and every time he turns his face to mine,

I feel the storm that only he can live.

He speaks in ways that shake the walls in my chest,

and in the quiet moments I can hear his truth,

yet something in the light around him bends,

reminding me of every stolen piece of youth.

He carries every blessing and every flaw I know,

and still I keep him close to where my shadows stay,

because love is never gentle with the heart,

and hate can never turn its eyes away.

So here I stand with all the weight he left,

my hands still warm from reaching out again,

for he is the one I value through the pain,

the one I love, the one I hate, the one who still remains.
