She found him easier to love.
His pale skin offered her things, that my deep dark skin couldn't.
Today she holds me close,
And whispers sweet nothing in my ears.
Tomorrow she will lay in silence as he buries himself inside her, and drip sweat on her face.
In the afternoon sun, she traces the light spots on my skin and compares them to constellations in the night sky.
I smile in response to her words,
but deep down, I know she would never love me outside the walls of this tiny world we built.
She found him easier to love.
His pale skin offered her things, that my deep dark skin couldn't.
