He waited for his mummy to return

A cats love for his human mummy who died

He waited for his mummy to return

In the quiet house, the cat would wait,

By the door, at the gate.

Each day it hoped, each night it yearned,

For the one he loves, who’d never returned.

Its eyes grew dim, its spirit frail,

Yet loyalty told a steadfast tale.

The bond unbroken, love so true,

Through every shadow, this cat felt blue

Until one day, its heart gave way,

And gently he slipped from the day.

Across the stars, its soul took flight,

To find her waiting in the light.

Now hand in paw, in heaven’s glow,

Together forever, the two shall go.

No more longing, no more pain,

Eternal love shall forever remain

Reunited at the heavens door

They will never be separate no more
