He's The One

A poem for my partner

I want to go back and meet you all over again.

Where there were once butterflies in my stomach, now there is a sense of safety.

You're my home.

And you walk around with a big old heartbeat that you wear on your sleeve.

I want to relive the first night we hung out just one more time.

I want to stare into your hazel eyes and call you mine.

It makes no sense,

I didn't deserve you.

I still don't deserve you.

You are the most beautiful soul I have ever met.

I didn't realize why it was called falling in love until I met you.

I fell over and over again for you.

You caught me and called me yours.

I don't always feel worthy of love,

But you-

Oh my God,

Do you ever make me feel like I am worthy of love.

I just want to go back to that first night that we spent together,

Because I truly just want to experience falling in love with you all over again.

I had no idea it would end up like this.

My God,

Did I ever fall for the one.

I wrote this today inspired by the love of my life. I woke up this morning to affirmations playing on my phone from YouTube. I was confused- I originally thought I put them on in my sleep. But when I sat up in bed, he woke up and confessed that he did it for me in the middle of the night because he thought I could use a little more confidence.

Never in a million years did I deserve him.

He's my one.

Thank you for reading.
