He Never Remembered

Fun cost him love.

She thought he was going to remember.

Bruised eyes

Swollen lips

Broken hips

Hopeless dreams

Silent screams

Flowing tears

Growing fears

He used to love her

She was his everything

Alcohol took her place in his heart

To her he is now a stranger

When she sees him, in her eyes he reflects danger

How do you go from loving someone to aggressively despising them?

What happened to his heart?

What changed him?

He was her knight in shining amour

Now he's her fright in fuming humour

Every night she prays for her life

Very far from her family, she can't escape the wrath of his hand

He loved her once, maybe his heart will remember her,

That's what she told herself, until the day in a hospital bed she laid.

To never wake

For something she did not know with her life she paid

Her soul distant from her body

She could've lived, but she believed he would still love her again

She died in pain

Bruised heart

Broken rips

Cracked lips

Blood marks on her back

A dead baby inside her belly,

And her breath? There barely.
