He Is Using You…

Everybody saw it, but denial ruled the day until she was alone.

I.

Never loved you;

just wanted a fool.

Never loved you;

just wanted someone to do.

II.

He made you a fool alright

for his jester's delight.

Love-bombed you

To keep you up at night.

III.

Now you ache at night

for his useless sight.

Now you’re whipped

by his manipulating plight.

IV.

You’ve been fooled

You’ve been overruled.

You were conned

believing you'd been bejeweled.

V.

He doesn’t love you

Just out using you.

All those silly words

just rotted through.

VI.

He used his words

like tasty curds.

In truth he had you caged

like unsuspecting birds.

VII.

Can’t you see

his devil’s glee?

You're falling for it

Like dead leaves from a tree.

VIII.

He wasn’t out for you

for his love wasn’t true.

He knew you didn’t see

the devastating clue.

IX.

So now, all alone,

sitting on your lonely throne.

He left you,

and all you can do is groan.

X.

The warnings were there,

stripped bare.

But you refused to see,

now you sit next to an empty chair.
