Hate the Poems Where It’s Already Too Late?

Ah well...sorry!

By The Dani WriterPublished 6 days ago • 1 min read

Diminishing returns overrun decades forgotten debts

Incrementals too microscopic to matter while we

Sexed and flexed laughed and lamented our lives away cruise-controlling

Around consumption of entire continents and noncompliance with recommended chewing times but hey

Pleasure does that—fillets and fucks logic in the act of— it’s a job requirement

Perspective and plans lose themselves amidst background noise

Evensong soothes freedom frenzy long enough for the favored to follow then film down dark alleyways

Access free-for-alls 24/7 drew all-nighters with imminent decrease—like 20/4 be aiight

Rationales fit when we skipped a few here and there—PTA meeting/tax deadline/et cetera et cetera

Injuries I dunno HOW we ached into heal by lunar cycles instead of one day and done

Now noticing when not being noticed and such routine quiet just…got…noticeable

Glory ways felt for memory roots determined to remember understand and

Agree on how lightning surged inside on repeat until Nana and Auntie Iris

Cried out for reinforcements “Cuz LAWD dat chile gon’ hurt sumptin’ sho nuff”

Trust fired cosmic calls unstoppable back then as my feet left the ground

Sentiment lost its claim but loathes daily chair duty while my 'inside fight' craves the bluest breeze

One word at a time.

Thank you for believing. I'm almost there.
