blanket forts
and red balloons
when hair distorts
like sticked cartoons
animated electricity
displaying fireworks for free
just scoot your feet
in woolen socks
the connection's complete
when you get shocked
electrons moving here to there
snapping without a warning
reclining in your favorite chair
sending remotes and popcorn soaring
small, tiny arcs
wee lightning bolts
when low current sparks
can make you jolt
old metal knobs
and dampened skin
magic's voltage throbed
genie or jinn
the dryer sounds
the loads complete
static surrounds
amidst the heat
singing its song
its battlecry
stringing you along
a lit firefly
you shake and dance away the sting
damn that bite of static cling
