Waking up for a new day with gratitude in your heart

to the smell of freshly brewed Folgers expresso

to your first steps of the day for a fresh new start

and praying that the wind doesn't blow

Witnessing the newborn blooms of Spring

look at all the vibrant colors of yellows, blues, and greens

Going to the park and starting to swing

the feeling of freedom and what it truly means

Opening a brand new book inhaling its scent

The sound of the first Spring rain on a tin roof

Finding out what true love really meant

And tripping over your feet in laughter Oh! what a goof!

When all you have to give is an ear and a smile

And the tears of joy when you're able to help another

and no matter what you'll walk that mile

And the true blessing of becoming a grandmother.
