haiku october one
first week of october 2023 in 49 haiku
that was pretty great
one original is left
oh, i love it so
[saw the english beat]
. . . [10/1/23]
. . .
what do the birds say
when they wake up, what is first
you sound so lovely
. . . [10/2/23]
. . .
a certain quiet
before the leaf blowers start
[come]
must wake up early
. . . [10/2/23]
. . .
how great is music
"great" is just a gateway word
absolutely rad
. . . [10/2/23]
. . .
oh! if a re-do
what would we change if we could
different things i guess
. . . [10/2/23]
. . .
this is pretty good
this moment right here i'll take
some don't get this time
. . . [10/2/23]
. . .
i worried, but fine
i trusted that might happen
it's been good so far
. . . [10/2/23]
. . .
we are all diff'rent
but we are so much the same
all sitting here now
. . . [10/2/23]
. . .
each doing our things
all just trying to feel good
how you doing it
. . . [10/2/23]
. . .
i try not to dwell
on how unhappy i am
but i get so mad
. . . [10/2/23]
. . .
but i keep trying
i restart this everyday
it does get better
. . . [10/2/23]
. . .
to get the most out
what could you be looking for
just give it a try
. . . [10/3/23]
. . .
try to be honest
you always do but are you
just don't forget it
. . . [10/3/23]
. . .
remember to help
even though it's your job, still
it's easy to not
. . . [10/3/23]
. . .
take this day easy
it's gonna be a long one
it's easy to not
. . . [10/3/23]
. . .
and now for some tea
take it in and enjoy it
it's what you can do
. . . [10/3/23]
. . .
it is not as was
and you've known this for a while
act accordingly
. . . [10/4/23]
. . .
good morning to you
you seem a little sleepy
some days are like this
. . . [10/4/23]
. . .
being human's weird
that i can think that, is weird
and then keep going
. . . [10/4/23]
. . .
ah, the birds' "hello"
i'll listen for a few now
it's just what they do
. . . [10/4/23]
. . .
they say this and that
i could try and guess but don't
some mornings so much
. . . [10/4/23]
. . .
i can not hear them
like so much i can tune out
then i hear again
. . . [10/4/23]
. . .
how many projects
too many can be too much
too much can stop you
. . . [10/4/23]
. . .
so we pick and choose
trying for better daily
i'm gonna do less
. . . [10/4/23]
. . .
you have worked so hard
you have paid for all this time
it has paid off some
. . . [10/4/23]
. . .
held on so kept it
it's been trying to get out
time to let it go
. . . [10/4/23]
. . .
forgot to notice
forgot to really take it in
everything changes
. . . [10/4/23]
. . .
awareness makes it
makes letting go easier
not always easy
. . . [10/5/23]
. . .
trying not to mind
he said the trick is to not
so i try and try
. . . [10/5/23]
. . .
they play on the roof
sounding like little people
just squirrels up playing
. . . [10/5/23]
. . .
what sort of day this
it will be the day it is
i will play a part
. . . [10/5/23]
. . .
doesn't matter much
not in the big scheme of things
it's just this and that
. . . [10/5/23]
. . .
and so they are talking
after a very long time
and it will be good
. . . [10/5/23]
. . .
ok - let's do more
more of this day and the next
let's have some fun now
. . . [10/5/23]
. . .
never about night
always talking about day
what happens at night
. . . [10/6/23]
. . .
time to go and play
chase a ball a little bit
make the humors move
. . . [10/6/23]
. . .
it's a bit humid
it was fall but now it's warm
nice breeze in here though
. . . [10/6/23]
. . .
next week forty eight
i'll have completed that much
sort of just like that
. . . [10/6/23]
. . .
but not just like that
time does go both slow and fast
right now i can't tell
. . . [10/6/23]
. . .
old friends come back in
wanting there to be no loss
and mostly it's true
. . . [10/7/23]
. . .
born on the 13th
never been superstitious
i'll thank the 13th
. . . [10/7/23]
. . .
walk under ladders
open umbrellas inside
that stuff doesn't hurt
. . . [10/7/23]
. . .
or is it just fun
feeling that you have that say
i don't think it's real
. . . [10/7/23]
. . .
more a day writer
night doesn't occur to me
not creating then
. . . [10/7/23]
. . .
what would it be like
what if i flipped the whole day
try things opposite
. . . [10/7/23]
. . .
how much do you play
play around with how you be
what of you would change
. . . [10/7/23]
. . .
we played some tennis
we played better than before
but still like children
. . . [10/7/23]
. . .
nah, that's not quite fair
to us or to the children
we're getting better
. . . [10/7/23]
. . .
ok. now go make
go touch stuff and be yourself
let it all just be
. . . [10/7/23]
. . .
. . .
weeks go by don't they. just like that but also not. thanks for reading and taking breaths with me. i hope you had a good week and will have a good day and time ahead!
thank you for reading, kory

Once again, a wonderful list, Kory! The days DO go by! I once heard, “the hours are long but the days are short.” Such truth! I specifically connected with this one from your amazing collection: “and now for some tea take it in and enjoy it it's what you can do” Ahhh, it’s what you can do. That line is so perfect. Feeling that this morning as I drink my tea and have many things swirling in my head. So happy I read that. It spoke to me. Hope you have a gorgeous day! 💫💞
