Hades and Persephone

Tale as Old as Time

Hades and Persephone by Starryai

Hades and Persephone, a tale as old as time;

King of Darkness and Princess of Life, a love so divine.

Kidnapped her and she ate the fruit,

A tale I'd beg to dispute.

She grew to love him, this much is true

But I believe it was always there, but with truth chaos would ensue.

See darkness and light don't always go together,

But they had a love that could withstand any weather.

How could something so bright love something so dark?

Easy, it's only in darkness that you see a bright spark.

For if flowers can bloom by the light of the moon,

Surely she could too and there would be no gloom.

Six months of darkness and six months of light,

A sacrifice she made willingly, barely a fight.

To soothe the ache of her mother's heart,

Yet counting the days till summer's depart.
