Gyrating

With Such Flair

By Mother CombsPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Listen to the song that inspired the image that, in turn, inspired the poem while you read🩷.

Always part of a group

She never arrives alone

Not much of a drinker

You won’t catch her prone

She’s happiest when

The band starts to moan

💃

Once the band warms up

Out on the dance floor, she goes

Round and round, faster and faster

Ripping and tearing a jig on her toes

Laughing, she shimmy, shimmy shakes

Catching sight of herself, she crows

💃

Bogeying

She doesn’t care

Jiving

Let them stare

Bopping

Swirling her hair

Gyrating

With such flair

💃

Don’t worry

She’s not lonely

She doesn’t mind

Being the only

Dancer on the floor

Prancing boldly

💃

Flouncing just for herself

Spinning like a child’s top

She leads while she follows

Uncontrollably, she won’t stop

Finally, she wears herself down

And she’s ready to flop

💃

Bogeying

She doesn’t care

Jiving

Let them stare

Bopping

Swirling her hair

Gyrating

With such flair
