Greedy

They Tell Me I Want Too Much

They tell me I’m greedy

That I want too much

That I should despair in my desires

Depart from this dream of love

But, riddle me this

How is love greedy

Love is beyond this terrestrial plane

So love, in itself, is pure

Jealousy, that maniacal desire

To have one all to yourself

To keep them apart from all others

Now that is greedy

Adultery, the unholy tryst

Between two liars

The secret desire of one not yours

That, that is greedy

But love, that fontaine of feeling

Peaking and overflowing in beauty

Where the erudite see only the peace

And constructive desire rules supreme

Such a massive bounty of love

How can that be greedy?
