We ought to be grateful
Seeing the happenings in the world
Of wars and conflicts, of natural disasters
What more personal wishes could we have
With simple pleasures, in moments of peace
We find so many reasons to smile
Surrounding us are family and friends
Standing by our side, with care and love
Tomorrow could be another day
When we awake, we see new challenges
Nature’s wonders will still surround us
they will remind us to cherish the present
So let’s be thankful for every little thing
No matter how it appears, trust that it brings
For better or worse
We need to be strong and always be grateful
