Goodbye, My Friends
A Poem about Loss

Do they know how it feels to be cast aside?
Do they know how it feels to be buried alive?
Do they know how it feels to have almost died?
Do they know how it feels to lose your drive?
There once were so many,
But were they true?
There were some that were special,
But now we are through.
What happened out there?
I never knew,
They cast me aside,
But now we are through.
It all tumbled down,
Quicker than it grew,
They buried me alive,
But now we are through.
The pain that I felt,
Left me so blue,
It felt like I died,
But now we are through.
I always helped out,
But where were you?
I lost my drive,
So now we are through.
Goodbye, my friends.
Farewell. Adieu.
You lost someone special,
Because now we are through.
There is only one left,
And they’re better than you!
So goodbye, my friends,
I’m glad we are through.
