Goodbye Always Hurts

Heart get broken every day

Goodbye Always Hurts

I watched your figure fade,

the doorway swallowing your shape,

and the air felt heavy, impossible,

goodbye always hurts like this.

Memories claw at the walls,

your laugh trapped in my chest,

the echo of your touch still lingers,

a ghost I cannot chase away.

I spoke to the wind your name,

hoping it would carry you back,

but endings have no mercy,

and goodbye always hurts like this.

I trace the places you once sat,

your coffee cup, your jacket,

every ordinary item now a monument

to a presence that left too soon.

Even in sleep, you haunt me,

smiles I cannot reach,

words I will never hear again,

goodbye pressing the chest like stone.

I gather the pieces of me left behind,

brace myself for the nights alone,

yet even in absence, your shadow stays,

and goodbye always hurts like this.

Time promises healing,

but for now, the ache is alive,

a constant reminder that love

cannot simply vanish without leaving scars.
