Good poem:food porn

secret screen of a lavish

deluxe, delicate lush

Stuffing my face like a bloated monster

As I sneak into the scenes of a hole-in-the-wall kitchen

I imagine The strangers whisper desperately and seductively about the individual ingredients

Fresh and locally sourced

Like a sexy second helping

Thirty seconds and it’s over, I saw what I wanted to gorge on

I ate my meager vittles like a prisoner with their last meal, stuffing, stuffing

Stuffing like a stuffed turkey

I’m drugged, feeling guilty and helpless

I’m helpless to go right back to the NY style crust that uses their local water that gives it the texture and taste

It’s an addition to my addiction

Good poem for a food porn

Looking for the dirt, the dirty side dishes

Sneak a little bit on the side

I’m gonna hurl as I cram it all inside

It’s like you can’t jerk off without feeling lonely after, eating with the best food porn

Lonely so lonely, so full and lonely

That feeling of fullness with the aching feeling of pressure, heavy

I’m a poem for porn for food for thought

For dreams

For love

To dare,

Homemade with fresh strawberries

Strawberries more red and fresh and ripe and sweet,

So desperately sweet, you are lonely for that last bite

Like death awaiting you as you savor the moment of utter, deep, painful red.

This was an accurate depiction of an eating disorder. The writing is intense.

There's such a tension between pleasure and regret.

This was such a weird poem but in such a good way!! You balance food appreciation and addiction in such an interesting way here and encompass exactly why people love food so much, I know I do! I absolutely loved this!

  • Oooo, my favourite part was like a prisoner having his last meal. Loved your poem Merly!

I just bought a packages of strawberries yesterday and I suddenly feel dirty. Fuck it! Bring on the food porn.

  • This was a really interesting take, drawing so many similarities there. I really enjoyed this! Had to read through it twice. Really enjoyed the imagery throughout, great job!
