Golden years now turned to dust

I miss you and it hurts so much

Golden years now turned to dust

Love once strong, now lost to rust.

He held my hand through every storm.

Now I reach for air, not warmth.

The bed is cold, the house too still,

His laughter gone, the void can kill.

Photos fade but I still see

The man who meant the world to me.

I whisper soft into the air,

A broken prayer, a haunted dare:

Where is my forever now?

You vowed, you swore, then took your bow.

They say he’s near, just out of sight,

A breath away, a beam of light.

But I am flesh, and he is smoke.

A love that time and death revoke.

You left me drowning in your wake,

A widow wrapped in old heartbreak.

You promised alwaysit’s just empty breath,

Then kissed me once and married death.

I sit with ghosts who bear your name,

Their silence feeds this cruel flame.

God took the better half of me,

And left a shell where love should be.

So tell me this, if heaven’s real,

Why can’t the dead still feel.

Why can’t your hand reach through the night,

And hold me, til the world feels right?
