-Small village

No city busyness

Off Interstate 40

National Road

Green Ohio.

-Vendor tents

Goods galore

Food trucks abound

Smoky BBQ billows from

Black grills

Sticky treats

Corn on the cob!

-Fair games

Pop-pop-toss!

Ferris wheel spins

Family delights

Neon fair lights.

-Come as you are!

Don't dress up!

Ain't got time for that fuss!

Anything goes!

-Eat with your hands

No fork or knife

Lots of napkins!

Messy sight!

-Thick, drenched chop

Grilled, brown sugar sweet

Spicy tomatoey sauced

Hot

Gnaw to the bone

Get every last bit

Of Ohio summer.

-Sweet, crispy

Light vanilla

Sugary fried

What is a festival

Without waffles?

1-2-3

Gone!

-What is joy?

Look in the back!

Piles of dirt

Yellow construction vehicles scattered

Metal fencing

A sprawling brick building.

-A gift

To the kids

Years in the making

Since 2000's

Now manifesting

Hope.
