Godless
In a workplace, there are some people who hinder your professional growth. Sometimes, the disappointment makes you godless in a metaphorical sense.
Dance in the rain in order to gain,
Swallow the pride and go with the tide.
With a heart of gold,
It's hard to be bold.
Sacrifice the lamb,
To the goddess, who is numb.
The dream is now unreachable,
Although it's just on the table.
Try to reach for it,
She'll slap you on the face.
Only kneel down to her,
To get what your heart bears.
It's really hard, my friend,
That you'll always depend,
On your persistent spirit,
And think that there's no limit.
Remember, in this world,
There are many lords.
Like the numb goddess,
Who, has now, made you godless.

When the Robots Took My Job
This is for RM Stockton's Write Club prompt for the month of April: AI Please allow me to vent. For "college," I went to a scam school that is now closed. We were promised internships that were never spoken of again after admissions, and we were promised help finding jobs. The first time I went to the career counselor's office, she was completely frazzled. She had no idea what to do with us, the film majors. The second time I visited her office, I let her know that I'd found myself a job, and she was visibly relieved.
