How frequently I recollect
The frozen prarie lake,
That appeared to be a wonderland
Moved by a pixie's wand.
Skating with my cheerful mates
Brought my heart content,
Giggling, yelling with such merriment
At enchantment winter sent.
What enjoyable to coast on gem ice
Though here and there we would fall,
However, scramble to our feet once more
Not disapproving of it by any stretch of the imagination.
Furthermore, as the snowflakes floated down
To whirl with northwind's impact,
Our dearest trust would continuously be
That wintertime would endure.
I frequently contemplate those days
Yet again and wish for them,
For through the eyes of experience growing up
They held extraordinary bliss coming up.
