Ghost Pepper

a bowling alley meditation on the lived-in life

By Michele NampalliPublished 8 months ago • 1 min read

A bowling alley

neon lights beaming down pins

string of fluorescent all the way to the WOOP

you impatiently topple D o w n

Guardrails, for the chickens

I am a chick.

Staring straight up at the big honcho

Deadpan, dead center

It is the lived in

Life

I crave

Really do

My little feet back up tittering

barrels straight into chicken hood

The glossy floor shines as my feathery behind

Spin Out

a puck into neon disco shimmers

BAM

I tumble into them hot

We all fall

SCORE

phantoms of dreams lift

and I stay inside the car wash alley

or bowl

ally

waiting for the midnight sun

***

I chirp

And chirp for the morning worm

***

The one white hair

It’s growing

long

About the Creator

Michele Nampalli

This space is breath for my sensitivity. The poems come fully formed. I've known for quite some time now that my art is about receiving more than creation...its the most natural way I know to process my inner world. It started when I was 7.
