I took her hand and

led her to the sea,

There we stood and

looked to the horizon

It was then that

she spoke..no. whispered

Softly on the breeze

in tune with gulls

"The seas are troubled today. A mirror"

"Yet still life persists in spite of turbulence"

Cupping her chin and

kissing her cheek

I felt the warmth

emanating from her

"It's sad to ponder

the differences

When at a quantum level

we are the same"

You breathe in my skin

I sink you into me

We inhale and exhale

As one

Lips and teeth

graze blushed cheeks

subtle and solemn

our surrender

Salty sea air spray

Coats us both the same

"Your hair and my beard tickles

an interplay of gentle grit"

She grinned and

Sank deeper

Into me

Our bodies entwined

On the long grass

Stuck among the

stalks and insects.
