Again, Venus rises.
The ocean is calm at last.
The flood has ended.
-
Earth can breathe again.
Mass carnage, all for nothing.
For sin, it still lives.
-
Discovering fire,
Be not afraid of it's heat:
Eternal damnation.
-
Baby is crying
As the wind kisses their lips.
A life, born again.

Amazing 🤩 Storytelling ❤️👍🫶🏾💯📝‼️‼️
What a beautiful and vibrant way to show these transitions in haiku form. I totally lost sight of the haiku and just enjoyed being awash in the moment. BEAUTIFUL poem!
I agree with Naomi. This should have placed. It's spectacular in it simplicity.
Woah, this is underrated indeed! What a brilliant interpretation of ancient scripture. Though you followed the haiku structure, this felt like free verse in how unbound it was. I love the way you worked the elements in. I’m shocked this didn’t place in the challenge.
This was so deep! Brilliant use of imageries! I loved this so much!
