Poems from Journal Titled, Black and Blue (2018 - 2019)

A bruise always changes color before it heals.

Poem derived from my first completed journal, Black and Blue (2018-2019). Written July 20th 2016 at 10:49 am.

I have been told before

that every man I give myself to

takes a little bit of my soul

away from me.

I lie here in bed today

refusing to believe such,

for the blood through my veins

have never swam so beautifully

through my electric body.

My body is tired.

But my soul is wide awake

ready to dance along the farthest

depths of the universe.

It never left me.

They say nothing lasts forever,

but what about the nothingness

that we cannot see with the human eye,

the nothingness that is everything?
