Games With My Heart

Some days I'm the chessboard, some days I'm the pawn

My heart is a game, played by one and all.

A playground for lovers, where they rise or they fall.

Sometimes they play it fair, sometimes they cheat,

sometimes they play with love, sometimes they play with deceit.

Some days I'm the chessboard, some days I'm the pawn,

some days I'm the queen, leading the charge on.

But games with my heart never end in just one round,

for when one game is over, another's surely found.

Sands of time keep moving, but games still remain,

Some days I chase love, some days I am chased by pain.

Games with my heart are always bittersweet,

for my heart is doomed to defeat when I feel complete.

So play on, dear heart. Let the games begin,

for games with my heart are destined to never end.
