Gaea's Humors

Ebb and Flow

Oh what a harmonious contradiction you are,

pure and fresh in your murky richness.

So deeply shallow,

oh what mysteries you store.

A home for many,

An obstacle for more.

Lifelessness in your absence,

Destruction in your abundance.

Uncompromisingly changing, bending,

churning and flexing…with absolute solidarity.

Cool relief from an oppressive blaze.

The wind merely caresses your most external plane,

the entirety of the earth is yours to mold.

Such solace in your mossy shoulders,

A youthful rejuvenation in your agelessness.

Nobly washing the world away,

endlessly, timelessly, sightlessly…

downstream, from one body to the next.
