Full Speed Ahead!
Roger! But could you remind me, which way is forward?
By James ScottPublished 4 months ago • Updated 4 months ago • 1 min read

A step in the right direction, with my left foot.
An action that moves me forward, through a distance that divides, and sub-divides again.
I shuffle, towards my shadow.
He beckons me, and invites me forth into a darkness where I cannot see.
He tells me, this way.
And there's warmth upon my skin, upon my back, that sings to me.
Fragrant roses, in my periphery.
Their thorny stems reaching around, pulling my wrists, at my bleeding ankles.
I can no longer resist, and fall backward.
My arms flung over my head and behind, my shadow reaches out for me.
But he cannot catch, only a reflection.
