From Hades to her

maybe success without love is not success.

By Edward Banele ThelaPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

I found success is boring,

Wisdom is lonely

And real beauty is shallow.

Eternity is a very long time,

Walking with this lonely soul.

You not being mine is hell enough.

I have worked the narrow road

That leads to the heavens,

And tasted sweet victory,

But victory is empty.

I slumber in my lonely bed

And my sheets so sad,

In a house painted black.

I walk the streets

With a garment of invisibility;

No one to see and not to be seen.

I love the cosmos,

But I have no one

To share with these wonders.

I had this great big joke,

I had no one to tell

So I laughed all by myself.

All I need is you,

My most special friend,

Because if I can’t have you to hold

Then there is nothing to be held.

If I can’t have you

Then I found nothing to be had.

I shall live like in the past;

As a forgotten soul,

Walking this lonely road

Searching to be praised

For the success

That can never fill these lonely bones.
