From Afar
Shy and skittish mouse
Yet one of a kind— pretty
Yet quiet,
Mine, o’ mine.
Enjoying life’s adventures in silence
Which to you it pleases
And only aloud with ones
To your heart you hold closest.
I admire you from afar.
I know little about you
Yet I feel close.
Even though we only talked a little,
I’m not being weirder
Than my regular weird.
Just learning about who you are from others,
From afar.
No stalker, just me
Wanting to be your friend
And maybe more,
We’ll see how it ends.
Mousey dear,
Come closer.
Don’t be afraid;
I will hold you close
To my heart handmade.

Playing Musical Chairs
Many of us can relate to the childhood game of musical chairs. The objective of the game is to find a seat among the chairs laid out in the room before the music finishes. The loser of the game is left standing and excluded from other rounds of the game.

On Winning and Losing
Recently, the pleasant surprise of placement on the Vocal Bonus Leaderboard sent me down a rabbit hole. Now, rabbit holes are a pretty common place for me to spend time, but I don't always feel the call to write about them. To be honest, the thought of sharing some of them mortifies me.
