Frienemy
A frienemy is someone who pretends to be your friend but is really your enemy.
When the day is done.
You only have to wear your own skin.
The silence after the crowd leaves.
A silent room.
Alone with only your thoughts.
It's time to unplug.
It's time to rinse off the horrors of the day.
These wounds bleed.
But I will learn to heal them.
I will no longer allow others to rub salt in my wounds.
I am done trusting those who can't prove their motive to me.
I don't trust with a blind eye.
And for good reason.
Frenemies hang you out to dry.
They tug on your heart,
Until they are able to pull it out of your chest.
They pull your trigger,
Then they blame your gun.
They demonize you,
And throw your own heart back in your face dangling on a string.
Then wonder why you are jaded,
And no longer trust them.
They pry into the negatives of your life and want all the details to use against you later.
Frienemies crush your dreams,
But rub their own success in your face.
If you dare succeed at anything,
Their jealousy makes them hate you.
It's a double ended sword.
A one-way street.
Who needs friends,
when you have a frienemy.
Someone posing as a friend,
That wants to burn you to death.
I am blinded by the light,
And finally, understand why everyone drops this evil girl as a friend.
Why they remove her from their lives permanently and will never trust her again.
My good intentions left me with scars on my heart.
Never trust blindly.
