Friends Forever: The Bonding and Rediscovery

Two friends set out upon a path,

With dreams as bright as day.

Their hearts were full of hope and joy,

As they journeyed on their way.

*

They laughed and sang, they danced and played,

As they traveled through the land.

Their spirits soaring ever higher,

Guided by each other's hand.

*

But one day, as the sun went down,

A darkness crept within.

And one friend strayed from the path,

To follow selfish whims.

*

The other friend, with heavy heart,

Could not follow in his wake.

And so they parted ways that night,

A bond forever lost, they'd make.

*

Years went by, and both moved on,

But neither found such joy

As they had in that friendship lost,

When they were girls and boys.

*

Until one day, by chance they met,

On a crowded city street.

And all at once, the years fell away,

And their hearts began to beat.

*

They spoke of all that they had missed,

And of the times long gone.

And both knew then, with certainty,

That their friendship would live on.

*

For true friendship, it cannot die,

It only fades from view.

And when it's found again, it shines,

As bright as morning dew.

*

So hold your friends so very close,

And never let them stray.

For in the end, it's only they,

Who'll walk with you each day.
