An alien’s introduction to French Fries
Welcome to earth my lil alien friend, where the rich rise. This also the home of French fries.
They’re short golden sticks made out of potato skins. These French fries will be your greatest friend.
When you start eating them you won’t be able to halt. You’ll be addicted to the salt, but it ain’t your fault.
Anyone who says that they don’t like them is tellin foolish lies. I guarantee you that you will become a fool for fries.
So come get you a bite of this shoestring potato. It smells good you know you can’t say no.
The alien smiled at me and said “you tell no lies. Go ahead and hook me up with some of those fries.”

What My Therapist Doesn't Know
It's a freezing day in December, almost Christmas. My breath puffs out like clouds of cigarette smoke in the clear night air of the motel parking lot. At the moment, I wish it was cigarette smoke because I can't remember being this nervous in a very long time. Maybe the Christmas Eve service twenty years ago, when a pushy grandmother shoved her mini-skirted teen granddaughter up to the piano in our little Baptist Church and plopped an unfamiliar piece of music before me, stating, "Missy is going to sing. Play this."
