Sometimes I remember you crying

on the couch beside me in your little basement

after we watched Tiger King.

You wanted to know you were good,

we didn’t know the world had ended.

I wish I’d known what to do

with the flower you gave me.

Is that what love is like,

when the world ends?

Does it need sunlight? Water? Tears?

I think about you every day

and I hope you still feel it.

The same heavy love

running in you and through you

and I hope they know what to do with it.

About the Creator

Linden Carr

I've had an unconventional life in some ways, and writing is the best way I've found to work through that. I love nature and want to feel part of the real world.

I focus on themes like the environment, belonging, class, and alienation.
