Fox Moon

I dream in fur

Oh, I’m bleeding

Wait

No just tears, dripping from the red brown fur of my pocket fox

Wait

That’s my dog, my child

in fur form

The tears are mine, or hers, can’t tell by the light of the moon

Full and bright like white hot love on blinding sand

Rage and salt kisses

Never to be forgotten

She licks my wound, how did that get there

Her tiny paw like a rabbit’s foot

Luck can’t stop the bleeding

Oh, wait

Just tears

I wake soaked in tears

Just a dream, just a dream.
