Forgotten Love

In moments of quiet, when the world fades away,

Thoughts of unspoken words come to play.

Shadows of what could have been, like ghosts in the night,

Hovering in my heart, taking flight.

You were the melody that danced within,

Emotions unspoken, hiding beneath skin.

Silence where love should reside,

Echoes of missed chances collide.

Drifting like leaves in a gentle breeze,

Clutching onto moments, yearning for ease.

Regret woven into thoughts as distance grew wide,

A fool to let love slip aside.

Laughter and shared dreams, can you recall?

Closeness and care, moments enthrall.

In my heart, you linger, a story untold,

Hidden and smitten, love in its hold.

Time has moved on, paths now diverged,

Memories cherished, in silence submerged.

A wish whispered in the still of night,

For happiness and peace in your light.

May joy find you where my eyes couldn't see,

Live a life full of what couldn't be.

Though apart and our tale unfinished,

In my heart, you, my dearest, will be cherished.
