Forgive Me

Sonnet

By Mercedes ChavezPublished 22 days ago 1 min read

In the quiet heart is hidden sorrow that the eye can't see,

For every soul yearns for forgiveness, like a silent plea.

To mothers and fathers, whose love we sometimes test,

We seek your pardon for the times we've failed the nest.

**********************************************

To partners in life, to whom we vowed our best,

Forgive our imperfections, in this human quest.

And lovers of our hearts, with whom we dance life's complicated song,

Forgive the steps we've missed, when the nights seemed so long.

************************************************

For in the art of living, the canvas is never clear,

It's painted with our actions, both far and near.

So, with humble hearts, we ask for grace,

To mend the bonds, time cannot erase.
