Forever Promises
Let our shoulders rise and fall together

She sat alone, eyes low, staring at nothing really. Shoulders curved at the edges, rising and falling more pronounced with every breath. Life was about to win. She felt the crumble inside, the slow gradual slide into the small voice she had fought to hide. Her hands lay on either leg, palm barely open, facing upward, shrinking deeper in. I wanted to sit beside her, let my arms hold her in her retreat. Rebuild the broken parts. To say: It's okay—cry. Release the hurt in every drop falling away, just don't disappear with them. Be kind to yourself and hold up the why clearly. The why is important. Walking through this world will take on a shape you get to create. Without apologies stand Our world needs your unique voice. Today a stumble probably occurred— unexpected. Pause in the moment, just be. Like now, but don't sit with it too long. The sting will end with owning it. Your sisters are here. We see your best shining in the curve of your lips, the softness of your eyes. Find your joy and revisit her often. Skip, dance, fly. Grace lives in forgiving, so craft your mirror in letting go. My dear girl, Place yesterday in the past where it was designed to be. Let today live on with purpose, and tomorrow— always with hope. But— in this exact moment, when the small voice threatens to grow loud, Lean your head against mine. Let our shoulders sync in the rising and falling, and just be. I am here.
