Forever isn't real.

'Cuz when I looked into his eyes

I saw a world quickly dying.

Fire surrounded us.

I knew that man all too well.

Tears crawled down my cheeks as

he kissed the top of my forehead.

I knew right then - this was it.

He was saying his sweet goodbye.

My feet remained frozen as he ran back into the flames.

I reached out for him - but he was already gone.

Too much in shock for words to leave my mouth.

I couldn't breathe from all the smoke.

I fell to my knees.

My heart screamed "stop aching".

That night I lost the only sun that brightened my sky.

And I never loved again

because forever - it isn't real.
