(Before the Beginning)

There are some things this universe has never been able to explain.

Why certain stars insist on shining long after they have already died.

Why oceans continue reaching for shores they know they will never keep.

Why the moon returns every night to watch over a world that rarely looks back.

And why, among billions upon billions of souls scattered across an endless cosmos, one heart can spend an eternity searching for another it has never truly forgotten.

Perhaps love was never something that began the day we met.

Perhaps it existed long before either of us learned what it meant to breathe.

Long before names.

Long before language.

Long before time decided to count itself in mornings and nights.

Maybe somewhere before the first sunrise ever touched the first mountain, before the first bird discovered that wings were meant to carry hope through empty skies, our souls had already made a promise.

Not with words.

Words are too fragile.

Too human.

Promises made by souls are different.

They are carved into existence itself.

They survive fires.

Floods.

Wars.

Silence.

Death.

Even forgetting.

And if I have learned anything from the strange miracle of existing, it is this:

The universe has forgotten galaxies.

It has swallowed civilizations.

It has erased mountains.

It has hidden oceans beneath deserts and turned forests into dust.

Yet somehow…

it never forgot the road that leads me back to you.

Sometimes I wonder how many versions of me have already loved you.

Not the person I am now.

But the countless strangers I must have once been.

Maybe I was a fisherman whose hands smelled of salt and weathered rope, standing on a lonely dock beneath a sky overflowing with stars. Maybe you walked past me carrying flowers, and neither of us knew why our eyes refused to look away.

Maybe I was a musician whose songs were never written down because paper cannot hold every kind of grief. Maybe you were the only person in every crowded room who understood that every melody I played was another way of saying, “I have been looking for you.”

Perhaps I was a soldier who never returned home.

Perhaps you waited.

Every evening.

Every season.

Until your hair carried the color of winter.

Not because you believed I would come back…

but because love sometimes waits even after hope has quietly packed its bags and left.

Maybe we were children once.

Running barefoot through fields where the wind laughed louder than we did.

Perhaps we promised each other forever without understanding what forever would eventually ask of us.

Children make promises because they believe tomorrow always arrives.

Adults keep them because they learn that sometimes tomorrow never does.

I wonder if every ache I’ve ever carried belonged to me.

Or if some of it was simply the weight of missing you before I even knew your name.

Have you ever felt it?

That impossible feeling?

Walking through a city filled with strangers while your heart insists someone important is missing.

Hearing a laugh that almost sounds familiar.

Smelling rain that reminds you of a memory you’ve never lived.

Dreaming of places that do not exist on any map.

Perhaps our souls remember what our minds cannot.

Perhaps memory is much older than the brain.

Perhaps love is simply recognition.

Not finding someone new.

But remembering someone ancient.

If that’s true…

then every time I looked into your eyes, I wasn’t meeting you.

I was coming home.

There is something beautifully cruel about loving someone.

Because suddenly every ordinary thing becomes extraordinary.

The sunrise is no longer just sunlight.

It becomes another morning I wish you could see.

The rain is no longer water.

It becomes every tear the sky sheds for hearts separated by distance.

Music becomes conversations we never had.

Silence becomes every word we were too afraid to say.

Even time changes.

Minutes become oceans.

Hours become mountains.

Years become heartbeats.

Because love refuses to measure life the way clocks do.

It counts differently.

In smiles.

In embraces.

In moments when two people forget the rest of existence.

The world tells us that love is measured by how long two people stay together.

I don’t believe that anymore.

Some people spend fifty years beside one another and never truly meet.

Others cross paths for only a single afternoon…

and carry each other forever.

Length has never been the language of love.

Depth has.

A single heartbeat can contain an eternity if it belongs to the right person.

If one day this universe asked me to surrender every beautiful memory I have ever known—

every sunset,

every snowfall,

every quiet morning,

every laugh,

every dream—

in exchange for just one more moment looking into your eyes…

I would not negotiate.

I would not hesitate.

I would hand everything over with grateful hands.

Because beauty has always been easier to lose than you.

Do you know what amazes me most?

Not that stars burn for billions of years.

Not that galaxies continue dancing through infinite darkness.

Not that life somehow blooms on a tiny blue world floating in unimaginable emptiness.

No.

The miracle that leaves me speechless…

is that out of every possibility this universe could have written…

it somehow wrote a story where our paths touched.

Against impossible odds.

Against endless distances.

Against the mathematics of infinity itself.

You existed.

I existed.

And somehow…

we found each other.

That alone feels holier than every miracle history has ever named.

Sometimes I fear the future.

Not because I am afraid of growing older.

Wrinkles have never frightened me.

Grey hair is simply proof that time remembered your face.

What frightens me is the thought of one day forgetting the exact sound of your laughter.

The tiny pauses between your sentences.

The way your eyes soften when you’re about to smile.

The little things no photograph can preserve.

Because love has never lived inside pictures.

It lives inside details.

The invisible ones.

The ones no one else notices.

Those are the things I pray time never steals.

And if one day memory finally grows tired…

if names disappear…

if faces blur…

if my own reflection becomes a stranger…

I hope one feeling survives.

Just one.

The certainty that somewhere…

someone exists…

whose soul has always been my favorite place to rest.

Perhaps that is enough.

Perhaps love does not need memory.

Perhaps it only needs recognition.

The kind that happens without thinking.

The kind that makes one heart whisper,

“There you are.”

Even when every other part of the world has forgotten why.

(Every Lifetime I Lost You)

I used to believe that the greatest tragedy a heart could endure was saying goodbye.

I was wrong.

The greatest tragedy is knowing, somewhere beyond reason, that someone exists who feels like home… and spending an entire lifetime walking roads that never quite reach them.

There is a loneliness that belongs to empty rooms.

A loneliness that belongs to quiet nights.

A loneliness that belongs to watching the rain fall against a window while the world keeps moving without you.

But then there is another kind.

Older.

Quieter.

It settles beneath your ribs like a forgotten prayer.

It has no face.

No name.

No explanation.

It simply whispers, Someone is missing.

For years, I thought that whisper belonged to me.

Now I think it belonged to us.

Perhaps every lifetime has been another attempt.

Another chapter written by a universe too stubborn to let two souls remain strangers forever.

Perhaps we have always been circling each other.

Sometimes close enough to hear the echo of each other’s laughter.

Sometimes separated by oceans, centuries, and the impossible mathematics of fate.

Maybe there was a lifetime where we were born beneath the same sky but never met.

You looked up at the stars one evening, wondering why your heart felt heavier than it should.

At that exact moment, somewhere far away, I looked at the very same constellation and felt a longing I couldn’t explain.

Two people.

One sky.

One invisible ache.

Neither of us knowing we were mourning someone still alive.

Maybe there was another life where we met only once.

A crowded train.

A quiet café.

A fleeting glance across a rain-soaked street.

Nothing extraordinary to anyone else.

Just another stranger passing another stranger.

Yet something inside us paused.

The world continued moving.

Cars drove by.

People hurried to places they believed mattered.

But time, for the briefest heartbeat, held its breath.

Our eyes met.

Not with recognition the mind could understand—

but with the strange certainty of souls remembering what memory could not.

Then the light changed.

The crowd carried us in opposite directions.

And we spent the rest of that lifetime wondering why one ordinary moment refused to leave us.

How cruel it is that eternity sometimes hides inside a single glance.

I wonder how many times we almost made it.

How many moments were only one decision away from becoming forever.

If I had left home five minutes later.

If you had stayed just a little longer.

If one train had been delayed.

If one letter had arrived.

If one storm had waited another hour before breaking the sky.

History speaks of kingdoms rising and falling because of wars.

I think entire universes have changed because two hearts missed each other by a single moment.

Maybe destiny isn’t a straight road.

Maybe it is a thousand fragile threads, trembling with every choice we make.

And still…

Somehow…

Love keeps weaving them together again.

I have imagined losing you more times than I care to admit.

Not because I expect it.

Because loving someone teaches you how precious they are.

When your heart finally finds its home, every goodbye—even the imaginary ones—feels unbearably real.

I imagine old age.

Your hands resting quietly in mine.

The lines on your face becoming beautiful maps of every smile life ever gave you.

I imagine telling the same stories again because memory has become soft around the edges.

And I imagine falling in love with you every single time you tell me I already told that story yesterday.

Because love has never cared for repetition.

It delights in it.

The sun has risen billions of times.

No one calls it boring.

Your laughter could echo through eternity, and I would still wait for it as though hearing it for the very first time.

But life…

Life has a habit of reminding us that nothing borrowed from time is ever promised.

One day, one of us will speak a sentence without realizing it is the last one the other will ever hear.

One ordinary hug will unknowingly become our final embrace.

One sleepy “goodnight” will quietly become goodbye.

That thought has always broken something inside me.

Not because endings exist.

But because they never announce themselves.

If they did, perhaps we would hold each other longer.

Perhaps we would forgive faster.

Laugh louder.

Cry without shame.

Say “I love you” until the words became too small to contain what they meant.

Instead, life disguises forever as an ordinary Tuesday.

And we rarely notice until forever has already passed.

If I ever lose you—

whether to distance,

to silence,

to time,

or to that great mystery waiting beyond our final breath—

I hope you know this:

You would not become a memory.

Memories fade.

You would become part of the architecture of my soul.

Like gravity.

Invisible.

Constant.

Impossible to escape.

Everything I became afterward would still carry your fingerprints.

Every kindness I offered.

Every poem I wrote.

Every stranger I smiled at.

Every sunset that made me stop walking.

Every child I watched laughing in a park.

Every quiet prayer whispered into the night.

You would be there.

Not because I was refusing to let go.

But because love, when it is real, doesn’t leave.

It changes form.

Like water becoming rain.

Like rain becoming rivers.

Like rivers returning to the sea.

It never disappears.

It simply finds another way to exist.

Perhaps that is why I no longer fear death as much as I once did.

Death has defeated bodies for as long as bodies have existed.

But I have never seen convincing evidence that it knows what to do with love.

Love has always slipped through its fingers.

It survives in stories.

In songs.

In old photographs.

In children who unknowingly inherit the gentleness of someone they’ve never met.

In quiet habits we don’t even realize we’ve borrowed from those we cherish.

Maybe that’s immortality.

Not living forever.

But becoming impossible to erase.

If I am fortunate enough to leave anything behind in this world, I don’t want it to be wealth.

Or fame.

Or monuments carved from stone.

Stone eventually crumbles.

Names are forgotten.

Even stars burn out.

I want to leave behind a love so complete that long after my voice has vanished, the universe still remembers that once there lived someone who loved another soul without reservation, without pride, without conditions.

A love that asked for nothing except the chance to exist.

And if, somewhere beyond this life, there is another beginning waiting for us—

another dawn.

Another world.

Another chance—

I hope I don’t waste a single second searching.

I hope my soul recognizes yours before my eyes ever do.

I hope I walk toward you with the quiet certainty of someone who has crossed eternity just to keep an ancient promise.

Because maybe that has always been the purpose of every life I’ve lived.

Not success.

Not greatness.

Not being remembered by history.

Just this.

Finding you.

Choosing you.

And loving you with everything I have…

until even eternity begins to wonder where one soul ends and the other begins.

(The Universe Remembered Your Name)

There comes a moment in every life when the heart grows tired of asking why.

Why people leave.

Why time keeps taking more than it gives.

Why the ones we love cannot remain untouched by sorrow.

Why happiness always seems to carry the quiet shadow of impermanence.

I spent years asking those questions.

I searched for answers in books whose pages smelled of dust and forgotten dreams.

I searched beneath skies overflowing with stars, hoping that if I looked long enough, one of them might blink in a language only grieving hearts could understand.

I searched in silence.

In prayers.

In music.

In the spaces between words, where the deepest truths often hide.

But every answer I found eventually dissolved into another question.

Until one day…

I stopped searching for answers.

Because I found you.

And somehow, your existence answered questions I no longer knew how to ask.

It wasn’t that life suddenly became easy.

Storms still arrived.

There were mornings when the world felt unbearably heavy.

There were nights when fear crept quietly into my chest and reminded me that nothing borrowed from time can be held forever.

The universe did not stop being unpredictable.

It simply became less frightening because I no longer had to face it alone.

There is an extraordinary kind of peace that only another soul can awaken.

Not because they rescue you.

No one can rescue another from being human.

But because they remind you that carrying the weight together somehow makes it lighter.

You became that reminder.

Without trying.

Without even knowing.

You never had to perform miracles.

You never had to become perfect.

You simply existed.

And your existence itself became a sanctuary.

People often speak about love as though it arrives with fireworks.

As though the earth shakes.

As though every star suddenly learns your name.

But the deepest love rarely enters that way.

It arrives quietly.

Like morning sunlight slipping through curtains.

Like the scent of rain before the first drop ever falls.

Like a hand reaching for yours without thinking.

Like hearing your favorite song from another room.

Gentle.

Patient.

Unassuming.

Until one ordinary day you realize that what entered your life so softly has become the very thing holding your entire world together.

That is what you became to me.

Not an interruption.

Not an escape.

A home.

And homes are not always grand.

Sometimes they are nothing more than the sound of one familiar voice saying your name in a way no one else ever has.

Sometimes they are the silence where you no longer feel the need to explain yourself.

Sometimes they are the eyes that see every broken piece of you…

and never ask you to hide them.

If I could show you what you look like through my heart, I don’t think you would recognize yourself.

You would see every ordinary thing transformed into something sacred.

The way you smile when you’re distracted.

The softness in your eyes when you think no one is looking.

The little pauses before you speak, as though you’re making room for kindness to arrive before your words do.

The way your laughter doesn’t simply fill a room—

it rearranges it.

The way your presence changes the air itself.

You may never notice these things.

You live inside yourself.

I have had the privilege of witnessing you from the outside.

And I can tell you this:

You have no idea how much beauty you leave behind simply by being who you are.

The world measures people by accomplishments.

By titles.

By wealth.

By applause.

Hearts measure differently.

A heart remembers who made it feel safe.

Who stayed when leaving would have been easier.

Who listened without trying to fix everything.

Who loved without making love feel like something that had to be earned.

You have done those things without even realizing it.

Do you know what I think the universe truly is?

Not stars.

Not planets.

Not endless darkness stretching farther than imagination can follow.

I think the universe is memory.

Everything that has ever been loved leaves an echo.

Every act of kindness.

Every tear.

Every embrace.

Every whispered “I’m here.”

Nothing disappears completely.

It simply becomes part of something larger.

Perhaps that is why certain places feel familiar before we’ve ever visited them.

Why certain songs make us cry the first time we hear them.

Why some people feel like they’ve been waiting for us all our lives.

Maybe the universe remembers what we forget.

Maybe it carries every version of every love that has ever existed.

And when the moment is right…

it gently guides two wandering souls back together.

Not with thunder.

Not with spectacle.

Just a quiet nudge.

A coincidence.

A conversation.

A glance.

A choice that seems insignificant until years later, when you realize it changed everything.

Sometimes I wonder if somewhere, beyond everything we can see, there exists a place where every version of us is still alive.

The child who believed forever was simple.

The teenager who mistook loneliness for strength.

The adult who carried invisible scars behind a practiced smile.

The old soul who had almost given up believing that anyone could truly understand them.

I imagine all of those versions standing together, watching us now.

And I imagine them smiling.

Not because every dream came true.

Not because every wound disappeared.

But because after so much wandering…

after so many wrong turns…

after so many moments of believing love was only meant for other people…

we finally found each other.

Perhaps they always knew we would.

Perhaps hope is simply the memory of a future our souls have already seen.

If that is true, then maybe every heartbreak was not a punishment.

Maybe every goodbye carved out the space where your love would one day live.

Maybe every tear watered the ground where this impossible happiness would eventually bloom.

Pain has a strange way of convincing us that it will last forever.

It never does.

Love has a strange way of convincing us that forever isn’t long enough.

It never is.

If I could ask the universe for one impossible gift, it would not be endless years.

Even eternity would eventually lose its meaning if it became something we expected.

No…

I would ask for this instead:

That every time your heart begins to doubt its worth…

every time life whispers that you are not enough…

every time fear tells you that you are too broken to be loved…

I wish, for just one moment, you could borrow my heart.

Only for a heartbeat.

Only long enough to see yourself through my eyes.

You would discover someone extraordinary.

Someone whose kindness survives even after disappointment.

Someone whose strength is quiet enough that the world often mistakes it for gentleness.

Someone whose existence has changed another life more profoundly than they may ever know.

You would finally understand why I have never looked at you and seen perfection.

I have looked at you and seen truth.

And truth has always been infinitely more beautiful.

One day, many years from now—or perhaps sooner than either of us would ever wish—the universe will ask me to return everything it lent me.

My voice.

My hands.

My memories.

My final breath.

When that day arrives, I hope I leave this world without regret.

Not because I lived perfectly.

Not because I achieved everything I once dreamed of.

But because, in this vast and mysterious existence, I had the immeasurable privilege of loving you.

Some people spend their entire lives searching for meaning.

I found mine every time you smiled.

If the stars are the universe’s way of remembering light…

Then you are my heart’s way of remembering hope.

And if, after all of this, after every sunrise and every storm, after every goodbye and every miracle, someone were to ask me what the greatest wonder of my life was…

I would not point to the sky.

I would not speak of destiny.

I would not mention fate.

I would simply whisper your name—

not because it is the most beautiful word I have ever known,

but because it became the place where every beautiful thing I have ever known finally came to rest.

(If This Is My Last Breath)

If this is my last breath…

then let it leave my body gently.

Not with fear.

Not with regret.

Not with the desperate grasping of someone who believes life has betrayed them.

Let it leave the way a leaf surrenders to autumn—not because it has stopped loving the tree, but because it trusts that every ending belongs to something greater than itself.

And before silence claims the voice that has carried my heart for so long, there is only one thing I want the universe to hear.

It is not my name.

It is yours.

Because if there is one sound I would want echoing through eternity after I am gone, it would be the name of the soul that taught mine what it meant to truly live.

People spend their lives wondering what their final thoughts will be.

Some imagine unfinished dreams.

Others fear forgotten words or faces slipping quietly into darkness.

I have wondered too.

But every time I imagine that final moment, every road leads back to the same place.

Back to you.

I imagine my eyes growing heavy.

The room becoming quieter than it has ever been.

The world outside continuing exactly as it always has.

Birds will still greet the morning.

Rain will still kiss the earth.

Children will still laugh without knowing that somewhere, another story has just reached its final page.

Life has always been beautifully indifferent to our endings.

And perhaps that is not cruelty.

Perhaps it is mercy.

Because while one heart falls silent, another continues beating.

Love continues.

Hope continues.

The world continues becoming beautiful in ways we will never witness.

There is comfort in that.

If I could speak one last time, I would not speak about the things I owned.

I would not count my achievements.

I would not ask history to remember me.

History forgets everyone eventually.

Stone becomes dust.

Books fade.

Names disappear into languages no one speaks anymore.

But love…

Love has always been stubborn.

It hides in places time cannot easily reach.

In the way someone smiles because another person once smiled at them.

In the courage passed from one trembling hand to another.

In kindness offered without expecting applause.

In hearts forever changed by having been loved.

If anything of me survives, I hope it survives there.

Not in monuments.

But in moments.

Not in memory alone.

But in the quiet ways love keeps living after the ones who carried it are gone.

If someday you find yourself standing beneath a sky filled with stars, and the night feels impossibly still…

don’t search for me in the heavens.

I don’t want to become something distant.

I don’t want to be another unreachable light.

Search instead in the small things.

The warmth of sunlight resting on your face after a difficult week.

The breeze that arrives without warning on an ordinary afternoon.

The song that begins playing at exactly the moment your heart needed comfort.

The unexpected kindness of a stranger.

The scent of rain drifting through an open window.

The peaceful silence after tears finally stop falling.

If I remain anywhere…

I hope I remain there.

Because love was never meant to be imprisoned inside grand gestures.

It has always lived quietly.

Patiently.

Waiting to be noticed.

There may come a day when grief visits you.

I hope it arrives gently.

I hope it sits beside you rather than crushing you.

I hope it reminds you that sorrow is simply love refusing to disappear all at once.

Cry if you must.

Speak my name if it comforts you.

Laugh at the memories that make your heart ache.

Tell our story, even if your voice trembles.

But when the morning comes, promise me something.

Promise me you will open the curtains.

Promise me you will let the sunlight in.

Promise me you will keep living.

Because if I loved you with everything I had while I was here, how could I ever ask you to stop living after I was gone?

Love has never asked anyone to become a prisoner of yesterday.

Real love has always whispered,

“Go. Live. Carry me with you, not instead of you.”

I hope you travel to places we once dreamed about.

I hope you stand at the edge of oceans we never had the chance to see together.

I hope you watch sunsets so breathtaking that they leave you speechless.

I hope you meet people who remind you that goodness still exists.

I hope you dance, even if no music is playing.

I hope you laugh so hard that tears find your eyes for reasons that have nothing to do with grief.

And if, in one of those beautiful moments, you suddenly think of me…

Don’t apologize.

Don’t feel guilty for smiling.

Smile because we existed.

Smile because, against every impossible odd, our lives crossed.

Smile because for one miraculous stretch of time, two wandering souls found each other in a universe so unimaginably vast that it should have been impossible.

That miracle is enough to make an entire lifetime sacred.

You once asked me what forever means.

I didn’t know how to answer then.

I think I do now.

Forever is not measured by clocks.

It is not counted in years.

Forever is what happens when someone changes the shape of your soul so completely that even time cannot return it to what it once was.

That is forever.

You changed me.

Not into someone perfect.

Not into someone fearless.

You changed me into someone who understood that the greatest privilege a human being can receive is not to be admired…

but to love deeply and to be loved in return.

If the universe offered me another beginning—

another childhood,

another family,

another name,

another world—

but told me there was no guarantee that I would ever meet you…

I would refuse.

Not because life without you would be meaningless.

Life always contains beauty.

But because once a soul has known the feeling of coming home, every road that leads elsewhere feels incomplete.

I would rather walk through uncertainty a thousand times if there were even the smallest chance that somewhere, somehow, I would find you again.

And I believe I would.

Not because destiny is easy.

But because love is persistent.

It learns the shape of the soul it seeks.

It remembers.

Even when we do not.

Perhaps that is why, when I first met you, nothing extraordinary happened.

The earth did not shake.

The stars did not rearrange themselves.

The sky did not split open.

Instead, something quieter occurred.

Something infinitely more profound.

A part of me that had been wandering for longer than I could remember simply became still.

As though my soul whispered,

“There you are.

I’ve been looking for you for a very long time.”

Maybe that was always the miracle.

Not finding someone who completed me.

But finding someone who reminded me that love was never about becoming whole through another person.

It was about discovering that two whole souls could choose, freely and fully, to walk through this fleeting life side by side.

If these truly are my last words…

then let them carry no sadness.

Let them carry gratitude.

Gratitude for every ordinary morning that became extraordinary because you existed in it.

For every conversation that lasted longer than we intended.

For every quiet silence that never needed to be filled.

For every disagreement that taught us how to choose each other again.

For every tear you trusted me enough to witness.

For every smile you unknowingly placed inside my heart.

For every version of yourself—the joyful one, the frightened one, the uncertain one, the hopeful one, the one who doubted, the one who dreamed.

I loved them all.

Not because they were flawless.

But because they were yours.

And finally…

If there is something beyond this life—

another shore beyond this ocean of stars,

another dawn waiting after the longest night,

another beginning hidden inside what we call an ending—

don’t be afraid.

Walk toward the light without fear.

And if, somewhere in that unimaginable place, you hear someone laughing softly…

If you feel a familiar warmth before you see a familiar face…

If your heart begins racing for reasons you cannot explain…

Then keep walking.

I’ll be there.

Not because I never left.

But because love, when it is true, has never cared much for the boundaries between life and death.

It simply waits.

Patiently.

Faithfully.

Like the sunrise waiting behind the longest night.

Like spring hidden inside winter.

Like hope surviving inside a weary heart.

Until, at last, two souls who have searched through lifetimes…

find each other again.

And when I see you—

whether after years,

after lifetimes,

or after eternity itself—

I won’t ask where you’ve been.

I won’t ask why it took so long.

I’ll simply smile, take your hand as though I’d never forgotten its shape, and say the words my soul has been carrying across every season of existence:

“Welcome home.” ❤️
