Forceful Wind

Just a Poem

The wind is bustling,

Roaring in my ears,

Stinging my eyes,

Pushing me to go back,

Back,

Back,

When I am moving forward.

It would be so easy,

To turn around,

To go back home,

To make excuses,

To call it quits,

People would understand,

The wind was just that bad.

But would I forgive myself?

For retreating,

When I wanted to push myself?

To prove that I could do it,

That I have what it takes,

To achieve my victory,

Even if it is just to reach the finish line?

So I keep going,

Pushing against the wind,

Refusing to let it stop me.

The wind is a nice metaphor and also true: It pushes against us (I have several on Vocal about the Wind, LOL). I loved your poem!!
