For you

forever

By Linda RyanPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

I lost track of days a while back,

But I still count the time in the heartbeats not being skipped by the sound of your laugh,

In the blinks that wish to open faster to look back into your honey oceans,

In the squeezes not shared between our hands.

And I count in pure heroin dreams, seeping through my veins and settling into my bones,

Willing to stay under, just to get more of you

But waking up anyway

Because the reality of you is more divine than any high.

I loved you yesterday beyond words

I love you today stronger than the winds,

and when they wrap around you in a chilly spring blanket,

I hope they tell you I'll love you tomorrow even more.
