For The Days We Still Believe

For My Beloved

By Kelly McCloskeyPublished 12 months ago • 1 min read

We met when we were young and free,

two wandering souls beneath the trees.

The Wheel turned once and brought you near,

and in your eyes, my path was clear.

In autumn’s breath, our love took flame,

and nothing since has been the same.

Three little ones with hearts so wild,

each one became our blended child.

Then came our baby girl, our Samhain star,

Adria Rose, our light from afar.

Born through strife, born through pain,

yet radiant as Beltane rain.

You held me when I wished to leave,

when I saw death as sweet relief.

When I could not find my way to stand,

you stayed, you loved, and took my hand.

Our love is carved in sacred stone,

in forest root where moss has grown.

No fate can part what stars aligned,

I loved you long before this time.

I call upon the ancient ways,

the Moon to guide, the Sun to blaze,

the Earth to ground, the Wind to sing,

the Fire to forge the strength we bring.

Our love is old, and soulful, and true,

a sacred bond between me and you.

We’ve danced through stars, lifetime to lifetime,

our hearts return as stars align.

So come what may, through dark or light,

we’ll walk as one, both day and night.

The world may shift, the stars may fall,

but love like ours outlasts them all.

Forever. And ever.
